hey look at me blogging
Feb. 17th, 2022 12:44 amokay so what's new since the last time i updated???
well, work has somewhat calmed down insomuch that we dealt with the crisis of my coworkers just abruptly leaving. there's still a lot of ridiculousness going on that i don't wanna get too deep into right now (because sleepy and tired), but it just remains a circus in that regard.
i did get to hang with the family for the first time since oct. (covid positivity prevented thanksgiving and my cats being ill prevented crimmas.) overall, it was a pretty good time! overall. there were a few bumps where i had to call the nephew out for acting like a butthead, but other than that it was smooth sailing. i'm also really hyped because during that time, brother and i discussed him guest dm-ing a session for my table. i'm really excited and the gang seems super interested in doing the thing.
i'm so hyped AAAHHH
family and i went to h-mart so now i have access to actual ingredients that'll let me continue my exploration into more authentic korean and japanese cuisine, which i'm very hyped about. it's just so difficult to find what i'm looking for in the grocery stores around me, so having something like that nearby (roughly like 30-40 minutes away depending on traffic) just fills me with so much joy! we also stopped in fall river and went to an open air portuguese market, and that was fun! the family ended up leaving at that point to return north of the wall (aka maine), but i stayed for a little bit longer to go to a bakery that laura rec'd me to go to. i'm living for this sweet bread, holy crap.
after that, i finally got around to visiting the ~metaphysical~ store that's in bellingham. i got two black candles (@ me anubis, thank u) and i found a book i've been wanting to get. i remain eternally frustrated that options for kemetic deities remains so limited to me locally though because i didn't find really anything other than that and like, two other books??? so, while good for getting supplies in terms of candles and what not, the store's not really helpful to me beyond that. anyway, i already started thumbing through the book, but will probably read it more this weekend. it is a tameran wiccan book, so not exactly 1:1 with where i'm at, but i think the perspective is still helpful to have. at this point, i'm just trying to absorb as much as possible.
only other real major update atm is that i ended up starting to stream!! it's nothing overly special, but i have fun doing it if nothing else. :] and it's getting me to revisit playing resident evil 2, so that's been fun.
so yeah, i'd say the mental space has improved tremendously since last i wrote and i'm hoping it's going to keep going for at least a little bit longer.
